What care can the doctors provide?

It is the aim of all our locum doctors to provide you with the same quality of care you would expect from your own GP.

As well as routine care for unexpected illness, each locum doctor is fully equipped with a doctor’s bag containing general diagnostic equipment which complies with accreditation standards.  They also carry a range of general medications and can usually offer the patient a starter dose until they are able to get a prescription filled.

The locum doctor is able to perform duties such as suture lacerations, provide wound care review, palliative care review & verification of death (in aged care facilities).

All of our locum doctors adhere to a strict no narcotics policy and as such, they do not carry strong pain medication (of addiction) with them on their home visits. They also will not be able to write a prescription for this type of medication.
